the brand has continued to create products that are efficient and minimal, not foregoing
the premium price tag that makes these products all the more luxurious. Their line of
vacuum cleaners is by far their most popular appliance category, with their cordless
technology and effective design catering to a large demographic of individuals from all
across the world, regardless of lifestyle.

Dyson Omni-Glide

This time, Dyson has gone out of its way to introduce their newest addition to the
vacuum line-up, the Dyson Omni-Glide. Priced at around Dh1850, this vacuum is one
of their most affordable models, boasting much of the same features as its
predecessors, including the easy to operate controls and elegant design. Dyson claims
that the Omni-Glide is an all-in-one solution to all your cleaning needs. Can’t fit your
vacuum into small places? The Omni-Glide is for you. The manner in which you can
operate the Omni-Glide is one of the product’s greatest selling points. With the most
‘maneuverable’ design, you can fit this vacuum almost anywhere, and even storage is
easy with its compact look. The device is able to move itself in an omnidirectional
manner and with its ‘compact lie format’ reaching nooks and other crevasses is easy.
Additionally, with the perk of it featuring a cordless design like other Dyson vacuum
models, the Omni-Glide is almost guaranteed to make your cleaning experience a good
one.

Due to its compact size, it’s understandable that the overall capacity of the Omni-Glide
is limited. With a small dustbin, the product pales in comparison to its fellow vacuums,
where they, on average, can hold up to 4 times the amount of dust as compared to the
Omni-Glide. The battery life is also something to consider, since it can only go on at full
power for a solid 20 minutes, limiting the overall use of the product. Though a smaller
battery capacity and dust bin size may not feel like such a big deal, constantly throwing out dust every day and having to recharge multiple times to vacuum your home is an
inconvenience that isn’t worth the high price. Moreover, this product does not go well
with rugs and carpeted floors. You’ll end up having to go over the same spots over and
over again, since the suction power of the Omni-Glide isn’t as effective.

Secondary vacuum?

The Omni-Glide is specifically marketed as a secondary vacuum, that can be a great
addition to a larger, more powerful one. The Omni-Glide’s small size and even smaller
capacity all indicate that it really isn’t supposed to be used as your home’s sole vacuum.
It’s priced like most of Dyson’s other high-end vacuums, but with half the capacity.
Although Dyson’s attempt at compact cleaning is commendable, the limitations of the
product make it easy to pass it on for another vacuum from the brand. The Omni-Glide
boasts easy use with its 360-degree rotation capabilities, but the constant need to
recharge along with its small size can act as inhibitors to the experience. A great
alternative to the Omni-Glide is Dyson’s Digital Slim. As the name suggests, this
vacuum boasts much of the same compact design, but without any of the drawbacks.
The vacuum is 30% lighter and 20% smaller than Dyson’s V11 model, making it a great
option to get into those hard-to-reach areas in your home. It boasts twice the battery
capacity of the Omni-Glide, being able to go at full throttle for 40 minutes straight. It
even includes a smart display that shows the vacuum’s current performance rate,
selected power mode, battery life and so much more. The fact that Dyson already has
great alternatives to the Omni-Glide makes buying the vacuum an unproductive
purchase. Moreover, if you already have a larger vacuum, fitting it into smaller spaces
isn’t that much of an issue. Most vacuums, though not as flexible as the Omni-Glide, are
still able to move in a flexible manner and come with additional attachments that you
can use for a multitude of areas including sofa’s, curtains, and yes, hard to reach
spaces. The Omni-Glide is limited in its scope of use which makes justifying the hefty
price tag a difficult one.

Ultimately, the type of lifestyle you lead is what determines whether the Omni-Glide is
the product for you. If you live in a smaller space, have tiled floors, and generally have

the means to afford a couple of vacuum cleaners, the Omni-Glide may be a product you
can consider integrating into your home.
