The beta version of YouTube Shorts is now available in the United Arab Emirates. It is the company’s new short-form video experience to create short and catchy videos from mobile phones.
Editing tools
While short form videos were already viewable on the platform, people will now be able to access Shorts’ creation tools for the first time. This includes the ability to record with music, multi-segment camera to string multiple video clips together, control speed settings and more. This is in addition to the features such as adding captions, text and basic filters which are already available.

The new features also include the ability to sample audio not only from other Shorts but also from videos all across YouTube. This unlocks a new playground of creativity like never before. Users can give their own creative spin on the content they love to watch on YouTube and help find it a new audience. Creators will be in control though, with them being able to opt out of this feature for their long form videos if they want.
Seamless viewing experience
To help with discovery, there is a dedicated row on the YouTube homepage especially for shorts. This lets you easily swipe vertically from one video to the next with a Shorts tab on mobile coming soon to watch short form content with a single tap.
Supporting mobile creators
Over the years, YouTube has helped an entire generation creators turn their creativity into businesses and become next-generation media companies. Over the last three years, YouTube has paid more than $30 billion to creators, artists and media companies. The Shorts beta is rolling out globally and will be available to everybody soon.
