Astro has announced that through its partnership with Celcom Timur, the company has expanded the coverage of Astro Fibre to an additional 118,000 homes across several towns in Sabah. The partnership was first announced back in March and as promised, the expansion has rolled out in the second half of the year.
According to the internet service provider (ISP), its home fibre service is now available in Kota Kinabalu, Tawau, Semporna, Kunak, Sandakan, Penampang, Lahad Datu, Beaufort, Keningau, Kota Belud, Kota Marudu, Kudat, Putatan, Ranau, Tenom, and Tuaran. Moreover, the company is offering rebates up to RM39 per month for Sabahans who live in these areas as an introductory promotion.
The limited time offer covers three TV pack + Astro Fibre bundles that all come with 50Mbps fibre internet and a free Wi-Fi router. The Primary Pack, which comes with over 80 channels, costs RM158.99 per month but Sabahans can get it for RM129.99 per month while the promotion lasts.
Aside from that, customers can also choose the Sports Pack which offers over 95 Astro channels along with live sports streams for RM159.99 per month, RM39 less than the original price. The Movie Pack comes with the same rebate rate at a promo price RM154.99 per month, providing over 100 channels to keep you entertained.
While the savings are a good deal, please keep in mind that the rebates are only applicable for those who sign a 24-month contract. For those outside of the Borneon state, Astro currently seems to be offering the Primary Pack at RM139.99 on its website.
The bundle packages also come with two companion apps, namely Astro GO and the Astro Fibre app. The GO app lets you stream on-demand content through your phone, tablet, or laptop. Meanwhile, the Astro Fibre app allows customers to control and monitor their home network remotely.
