BJP has rolled out a plan to organise 51 big rallies and 4,000 “tiffin meetings” under the on-going Mahasampark Abhiyan, the ambitious reach out programme to educate people of the achievements of the NDA government in the last nine years. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP Chief JP Nadda will lead this drive that will engage around 15 lakh party workers.

The drive also involves messaging through visits to holy places by the BJP leaders. Home Minister Amit Shah will visit Nanded, the holy place of Sikhs in Maharashtra, on June 10 and address a public meeting after paying obeisance at the Gurudwara dedicated to Guru Govind Singh. BJP Chief JP Nadda is scheduled to visit Lord Balaji temple at Tirupati on the same day and address a rally.

Nadda will also spend three days in his home state Himachal Pradesh from June 11-13 and visit Kullu, the Bajreshwari Devi temple in Kangra, and Bajurah in Pathankot. Prime Minister Modi had visited the Brahma temple at Pushkar during his visit to Rajasthan to address a rally at Ajmer on May 31.

The BJP Chief will address a rally in Hoshiarpur, Punjab on June 14. The party is trying to improve its political footprint in the border state after losing the Assembly elections to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in 2022. Renewing the alliance with old partner Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) is also in the works, according to party sources. The three farm laws which had led SAD to walk out of NDA have been withdrawn by the government and there is a growing belief on both sides that they should have a tie-up.

The party has begun the “tiffin meetings” which will be a three-hour affair where a senior BJP office-bearer will interact with locals at a venue on the achievements of the Modi government, followed by a discussion and sharing of meals. Nadda has already held one session in Noida.

BJP aims to reach out to lakhs of people through 4,000 tiffin meetings. The month-long Mahasampark Abhiyan that ends on June 30 is also flagging the nationalism issue and its senior leaders will meet war heroes during their meetings across the country. Nadda met General (retd.) Dalbir Singh Suhag under whose tenure the Uri and Myanmar surgical strikes were conducted. He also called upon Lt General (retd.) AS Lamba, a 1971 war veteran and Air Marshal (retd.) Denzil Keelor, 1965 war hero.
