In the run-up to the Assembly elections, the Madhya Pradesh government is announcing public holidays on the birth anniversary of eminent personalities to woo different caste groups. Till now, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has announced seven such holidays this year.

Out of these, three have been announced in April on birth anniversary of Dr BR Ambedkar (April 14), Lord Parshuram (April 22) and on Chitragupta Prakotsava (April 27).
