NEW DELHI: India got off to a sensational start at the ISSF Junior World as Sainyam claimed the gold medal in the women’s 10m air pistol competition on Saturday. The event marked a rousing beginning to India’s campaign in the tournament.
In the intense eight-woman final, Sainyam showcased her exceptional skills, shooting a remarkable score of 238 to secure the top spot on the podium. Meanwhile, her compatriot Suruchi Inder Singh settled for sixth place with a score of 154.1.

Korea’s Kim Minseo clinched the silver medal with a total score of 236, while the bronze was awarded to Liu Heng Yu of Taipei, who shot 216.9.
In the qualification round, Sainyam had a strong performance, finishing third with a score of 571. Suruchi, on the other hand, secured the fifth position.
This victory adds to Sainyam’s growing list of accomplishments. Earlier in February, she won the bronze medal in the women’s 10m air pistol event at the Khelo India Youth Games, further cementing her talent and potential in the sport.
