A senior leader in NSCN-IM who didn’t want to be named told ET, ” There is a meeting with Sarma in Dimapur on September 21. He is likely to meet NSCN-IM general secretary Thuingaleng Muivah during his visit to Dimapur.”
Recently Nagaland governor R N Ravi is shifted to Tamil Nadu. He was interlocutor of naga peace talks.
While Assam Governor Jagdish Mukhi has been given additional charge of Nagaland, former Intelligence Bureau (IB) special director AK Mishra arrived at Dimapur in Nagaland on Saturday to hold talks with the NSCN-IM leadership.

Working Committee (WC) Naga National Political Groups (NNPGs) stated that it is deeply disturbed by the unfounded allegation of the Indian intelligence agencies that GPRN/NSCN is procuring arms from Myanmar.
In a statement it stated, “Indian agencies have a habit of cooking up stories to destabilise the Indo-Naga peace process. This could be one reason.
The fact of the matter is, Naga populace in Myanmar are undergoing untold misery at the hands of Burmese junta. Since usurping democratically elected government in February 2021, the arrest and killing of innocent civilians have risen sharply. Thousands of Naga people have fled their homes, pouring into Indian side of Naga homeland. WC will not seek anyone’s permission when our brothers and sisters are facing acute humanitarian crisis. The first aid, food, clothing and shelter are basic human requirements and we will continue to assist our people. We shall not allow our brothers and sisters in Burma to die from hunger and disease. Let Indian military agencies invent stories as they wish. We will continue to offer medicines and other basic needs to our people. Humanitarian assistance to our suffering brethren is our only humble activity and our right.”
WC, NNPGs is also seriously viewing the activities of the Security Forces in conducting multiple raids on the residences of senior Naga National workers affiliated to various political groups within WC, NNPGs. Raids on Lt. Col. Ngukato (NSCN/GPRN-Khango/Isak) have been conducted four times within a fortnight. Likewise Pre-dawn raids on the residence of Khekato Kilonser (NSCN-R) have happened four times in the month of September. Similar raids are happening each day with no rhyme or reason. Ceasefire mechanism is in place and at critical time such as the present time in the Naga history, security forces must respect and understand the ‘Agreed Position’ between the GoI and the Naga people. Security Forces must not run amok at this hour, making mockery of the political negotiations and the possible solution.
It added that CFMG Chairman must disseminate the status of the political talks to the military commanders on the ground. This will ensure that the military strategists on the ground are on the same page as the Prime Minister and Home Minister on the Indo-Naga issue.
