Alongside a host of products at Unpacked 2021, Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 4 Classic. Both of these smartphones share the same internal specifications with a variance in design language.
Upgraded processing power and design
Inside, the Galaxy Watch 4 series is powered by a 5nm processor. This is coupled with 16GB of storage which makes for a noticeably snappy experience.
The displays on the watches are also high-resolution. While the Galaxy Watch 4 allows for interaction via the touchscreen, the Watch 4 Classic uses a rotating bezel. Various minor design elements from Samsung give the watches an extra appeal when it comes to looks.
BioActive sensor and BMI measurement
With the Galaxy Watch 4 series, Samsung wants to hone in further on its health suite. Firstly, the watches feature a BioActive sensor which combines optical heart rate, electrical heart and bioelectrical impedence analysis sensors into one. This not only makes readings more accurate but also maintains the smartwatch’ sleek design. Alongside improvements here, the new Watch 4 series is now able to measure BMI and track your sleep better.
Improvements to synchronisation
Powered by Samsung’s One UI and Google’s rich selection of applications, the possibilities with the Galaxy Watch 4 are endless.
It serves as the centrepiece for a connected ecosystem. For example, you can control your Galaxy Buds via your watch or have all your smartphone applications load automatically. The latter is particularly useful during setup allowing users to be ready wherever they are.
Pricing and availability
The Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 4 Classic lineup will be available in 42mm and 46mm sizes. We will keep you updated on pricing and availability as we learn more.
