The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has rolled out a survey to find out what Malaysians think of the upcoming national mobile app. The development of the app was greenlighted in principle by the National Council of Digital Economy and Fourth Industrial Revolution back in April.
MCMC says that the new app will be a one-stop centre that would allow Malaysians to access both government and certain private services. Among them are traffic fine payments, utility bill payments, license and road tax renewals, birth registrations, marriage registrations, doctor’s appointments, e-health care services, and potentially more.
The online survey, which is running for three weeks from 15 September to 6 October, aims to fulfil several objectives. First of all, MCMC wants to determine the digital needs of Malaysians from various backgrounds as well as assess the demand for an all-in-one national mobile app. Additionally, the survey also aims to briefly explain the concept behind the app alongside potential usage scenarios.
MCMC is also looking for input on the app’s potential adoption across the public and private sectors. Finally, the survey will also be used to find out how the upcoming national all-in-one mobile app can help improve the delivery of government services.
The survey includes questions such as how often you use apps, what you don’t like about app transactions, and what might motivate you to use the national mobile app. You can also inform MCMC through the survey what you don’t want in the app, such as ads and features concerning privacy.
Not only that, you can also suggest a name for this app and the chosen suggestion will win a voucher worth RM2000. If you want to make your opinion known to MCMC, you can take the survey through this link right here.
