Apple now lets you directly report an app that you are suspicious about through the new version of ‘Report a Problem’ button on the App Store. According to a report by The Verge, Richard Mazkewich and scam hunter Kosta Eleftheriou first found out about the update. “In a major reversal, Apple quietly added back the “Report a Problem” @AppStore button in iOS 15:” wrote Kosta on Twitter along with screenshots of the new button.
The company has not only added the button again but now it also has a dedicated “Report a scam or fraud” option in the drop-down menu. Until now it was quite difficult to report a scam or fraud as to report an issue with any app, you had to scroll all the way down to the bottom of the App Store and the only options available were – Report suspicious activity, Report a quality issue, Request a refund and Find my content.
Apart from this, Apple recently also rolled out a feature where users can now rate and review the company’s in-house apps. The feature is only limited to apps that are deletable and can be re-installed via the App store, which means you still can’t rate the core system apps like Phone or Messages. The new changes introduced by the company will help treat apps more fairly and will also help the tech giant to spot and act on frauds.
The company last month also rolled out iOS 15 for a range of iPhone models and now the iOS 15.0.1 has also been released by the company with various bug fixes. The new operating system brings various features such as Live Text, Visual Look Up, SharePlay and many others. It is not yet clear whether the new App Store features are limited to these updates or not.
