PORT SAID, Egypt — Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi inaugurated on Monday the world’s largest water treatment plant of Bahr al-Baqar in the northern province of Port Said.

It has recently been awarded by Guinness World Records as the world’s largest plant of its kind as working on treating the sludge of the agricultural sewage and prevents mixing the sea and the underground water. (Egypt-Water Treatment-Plant)

TEHRAN — The head of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Mohammad Eslami on Tuesday rejected a U.S. statement which calls for giving access to the inspectors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to visit Iran’s Karaj nuclear site, official IRNA news agency reported.

Eslami said upon his arrival in the Russian capital Moscow that the countries, which did not condemn the “terrorist act” against Iran’s Karaj nuclear site, are not eligible to comment on inspections there. (Iran-US-IAEA)

BEIRUT — Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati said on Tuesday that he will not oppose visiting Syria if this move does not expose Lebanon to sanctions, the National News Agency reported.

“I do not object to visiting Syria and cooperating with it if this does not risk exposing Lebanon to sanctions. If Lebanon risks facing sanctions in light of any possible visit to Syria, then I will not allow it to happen,” Mikati said following his meeting with House Speaker Nabih Berri. RIYADH — Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud unveiled on Tuesday a development strategy aiming to achieve sustainable growth of the Asir region in the kingdom’s southwest.

With an investment of 50 billion Saudi riyals (13 billion U.S. dollars), the strategy will finance major projects to develop tourism attractions on and around the peaks of the Asir mountains, turning the region into a year-round world tourist destination, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
