Abu Dhabi [UAE], September 28 (ANI): Punjab Kings (PBKS) captain KL Rahul was not happy after his team lost by 6 wickets to Mumbai Indians (MI) here at Zayed Cricket Stadium on Tuesday but hoped the team will do better in the remaining matches.
MI chased the target of 136 in 19 overs with the loss of just 4 wickets. Hardik Pandya starred with the bat as all-rounder smashed unbeaten 40 to carry his team over the victory line. Saurabh Tiwary and Kieron Pollard also played important innings of 45 and 15 respectively for the Mumbai Indians (MI). Pollard also scalped two wickets for the defending champions as they restricted PBKS to 135.
KL Rahul, Punjab Kings captain during the post-match presentation said: “It was a great fight, but 135 was not enough on this pitch. We should have got about 170. The boys showed a lot of fight with the ball, we have done that two games in a row.””The next three games will be interesting for us as the table looks interesting. It is what it is, we haven’t been able to handle the pressure. We’ll learn more if we play more together as a team. We need to be positive. We have three games, so we need to take one game at a time. We need to go out there and enjoy ourselves. All our games in the UAE have gone down to the wire, hopefully, we can build on that,” he added.
For Punjab, Ravi Bishnoi scalped two wickets while Nathan Ellis and Mohammad Shami returned with one each. (ANI)
