Week 3’s finale on Monday Night Football is a classic clash between NFC East foes. Both the Cowboys and Eagles are 1-1 and have the opportunity to take early command of the division. When making NFL DFS lineups, it’s usually helpful to look at where Vegas sportsbooks opened the line. With the Cowboys opening as four-point favorites in a matchup with a 51.5-point total, oddsmakers are painting the picture of a high-scoring Cowboys victory, which obviously influenced our DraftKings Showdown lineup picks.
A quick recap of the scoring settings for DraftKings Showdown contests: They’re full-point PPR, and there are three-point bonuses for 300 passing yards, 100 rushing yards, and 100 receiving yards. The Captain pick costs 1.5 times a player’s original price, but he also gets his point total multiplied by 1.5.

DraftKings Showdown Picks: Eagles vs. Cowboys
$50,000 budget, need at least one player from each team.
Captain (1.5x value, 1.5x points): RB Ezekiel Elliott, Cowboys ($12,600)
This isn’t going to feel good for a lot of people, but there’s a method to the madness. Excitement is soaring for Tony Pollard — and deservedly so — but Father Time hasn’t come for Elliott just yet. He averaged 22.7 DK points in five games with Dak Prescott last season and is coming off of a solid performance. Not only is Elliott more than capable of delivering a big score, but he also provides us with a little financial breathing room compared to rolling with Dak Prescott in this top spot.
FLEX: QB Jalen Hurts, Eagles ($11,000)
Hurts has already flirted with 30 DraftKings points this season. He has 17 rush attempts through two games, so he’s using his legs as we expected. It’s partly because of his prospective work on the ground that we’re running an “iso” with Hurts. We’re also not interested in trying to pinpoint which Eagles pass-catcher has his night this week, not before we get a better feel for the distribution of volume in Nick Sirianni’s offense.
MORE MNF DFS: FanDuel single game lineup
FLEX: WR CeeDee Lamb, Cowboys ($9,800)
Lamb is pacing the Cowboys in targets (24) and yards (185). The second-year receiver is well on his way to a Year 2 breakout. If we’re going to leave Prescott out of our lineup, we’re going to make sure his top targets are included.
FLEX: WR Amari Cooper, Cowboys ($9,000)
Cooper leads the Cowboys in receptions and touchdowns. Cooper and Lamb have combined for 54.8 and 54.4 percent of the Cowboys targets and yards, respectively. Between the two of them (and Elliott) we’re hitching our wagon to the three biggest players on this offense not named Prescott.
FLEX: K Greg Zuerlein, Cowboys ($4,000)
The Cowboys are averaging 3.5 FG attempts per game through a modest two weeks. We’re not going to break our necks over a two-game sample, but Zuerlein has demonstrated a big leg, as well. If this game is as high scoring as anticipated, it won’t take long for Zuerlein to rack up a decent point total.
FLEX: Cowboys D/ST ($3,400)
This is more about the savings, but the Cowboys certainly have the talent to make a few big plays on Monday night. Even though punt return touchdowns are infrequent, in the event the Cowboys take one back, it will be Lamb doing the deed.
