History of Present Illness
A patient in her mid-60s presents to the emergency department (ED) with left eye pain that has been gradually worsening over the past 3 days. The patient describes scratching her eye while removing her contact lens. She denies any discharge or blurry vision but does have mild photophobia. The patient is otherwise healthy with no reports of headache, vomiting, or other complaints,
Vital Signs and Physical Examination
The patient’s vital signs are normal. Physical examination is also normal except for the left eye (Figure).
