TEHRAN — Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and his Egyptian counterpart Sameh Shoukry discussed improving bilateral ties in New York, the Iranian Foreign Ministry said on Thursday.

ANKARA — Türkiye’s central bank increased its policy interest rate by 500 basis points to 30 percent on Thursday and said it would continue monetary tightening.

TEHRAN — An Iranian court has sentenced to death the prime suspect in a “terrorist” attack in August on the Shah Cheragh shrine in the southern city of Shiraz, the judiciary-affiliated Mizan news agency reported on Thursday.

JERUSALEM — Israel’s army said on Thursday it struck two Syrian military structures near the border for their violation of the 1974 ceasefire agreement between the two countries.
