TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Syrian Awqaf (endowment) minister and his Egyptian counterpart held talks in Cairo on enhancing cooperation between the two Arab country’s religious institutions.

Mohammad Abdul-Sattar al-Sayyed and his Egyptian counterpart Muhammad Mukhtar Gomaa discussed raising awareness of youths of the dangers of extremist ideology, especially through modern technologies, in addition to the necessary steps to enhance cooperation between the two ministries.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed bolstering cooperation between the two religious institutions in Syria and Egypt and exchanging experiences, especially in the field of developing religious discourse, Islamic education, and interpretation of the Holy Quran, SANA reported.

They also discussed the role of endowment ministries in the Arab world and underscored the necessity of cooperation and coordination among them.
