To celebrate the 26th anniversary of the handover, the government and various public enterprises will have separate promotions ranging from free entries to government facilities to free transport rides.
The Hong Kong Jockey Club announced they would allow all residents above 18 to enter the Sha Tin racecourse for free to enjoy the Hong Kong Reunification Raceday and have invited many local stars to perform.
The Leisure and Cultural Services Department is also planning to make most of their sports facilities free of charge on Saturday, ranging from indoor facilities such as basketball and volleyball courts to outdoor facilities such as tennis courts and golf courses.
A number of museums, including the Hong Kong Museum of Art, Hong Kong Heritage Museum and Hong Kong Museum of History, will allow the public to enter free of charge.
Children under 11 can enjoy free rides on over 450 routes of KMB and LWB on July 1 and 2.
The Star Ferry, trams, and Fortune Ferry will also offer the public free rides on certain routes.
