Chennai (Tamil Nadu), June 17 (ANI): Taking his shot at Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin over the arrest of Senthil Balaji, state BJP President K Annamalai on June 17 in Chennai alleged that the CM ‘failed to discharge his duty’. Further briefing on the entire case, the BJP leader took the side of the state Governor and raised questions on CM’s actions. “We all know the role of a Governor is to be the conscience of the Indian Constitution. The SC has instructed the state police to file a chargesheet under the Prevention of Corruption Act against this minister. This minister sits in the cabinet, whereas the police also come under him. So the police are not taking any action against him. The SC has now asked that in 2 months’ time if the Act is not invoked, the SC will form an SIT. The CM has failed to discharge his duty,” Annamalai said. With the arrest of State Minister V Senthilbalaji after hours of interrogation by the ED in a money laundering case, Tamil Nadu is currently facing criticism over the handling of the matter by the state government.
