BEIRUT, June 16 (Xinhua) — The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has lifted the visa ban on Lebanese citizens, Lebanon’s caretaker Foreign Minister Abdallah Bou Habib said Friday.
The Lebanese ambassador to the UAE informed Habib on Thursday evening of the UAE’s decision to lift the travel ban, according to a statement on behalf of Habib released by the National News Agency.
Lebanese citizens and travel agencies recently reported that the UAE stopped granting visas to Lebanese nationals.
On Thursday, a UAE official said the temporary visa restrictions for the Lebanese were imposed for security concerns but would be lifted soon.
