Slamming Congress, Banerjee said, “You (Congress) have run so many states. Don’t seek Trinamool’s help in Bengal while siding with CPM and BJP. You (Congress) seek help in Parliament against BJP and we will help you. But in Bengal, you have friendship with CPM. We are not ready to help your party here.”
She was addressing a public rally in South 24 Parganas district’s Kakdwip.
“Neither Congress nor CPM have given free ration to people,” she said. “We have failed to give homes under the ‘Banglar Bari’ scheme as the Modi government stopped funds for the housing schemes. In 2024, once we remove the Modi government from power, people will get facilities of the houses from the scheme.”
Banerjee also slammed BJP for not disbursing funds for 100-days work and not paying for rural roads.
She urged the people of the state to vote for her party in the upcoming panchayat elections to get the benefits of social welfare schemes introduced by the state government such as Swasthya Sathi and Lakshmir Bhandar. “I will complete the schemes after the panchayat polls. Our hands will be strengthened if we win panchayat,” she said. Meanwhile, Trinamool Congress national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee completed his two-month-long people’s connect programme, ‘Trinamool-e nabo-jowar’ (New wave in Trinamool) in Kakdwip on Friday. “If someone stands as an independent candidate, he will not be taken back to the party. No one is above party’s rules and regulations,” he warned during a rally.”West Bengal will fight for its right to get the money in MGNREGA and we will take our movement to New Delhi,” Abhishek Banerjee said.
