Novak Djokovic captured his third French Open title and a historic 23rd Grand Slam victory Sunday. Still, the Serbian star isn’t buying into the argument that he’s the best male tennis player ever.

“I’ve said it before, it’s disrespectful towards all the great champions in different eras of our sport that was played in a completely different way than it is played today,” Djokovic said via Chris Oddo of Roland-garros.com. “So I feel like each great champion of his own generation has left a huge mark, a legacy, and paved the way for us to be able to play this sport in such a great stage worldwide.”

A humble Djokovic continued to wow tennis fans on Sunday, dispatching Norway’s Casper Ruud 7-6 (7-1), 6-4, 7-5 in the final.
