In preparation for the upcoming one-off Test against Afghanistan, Bangladesh on Sunday has announced the inclusion of uncapped batsman Shahadat Hossain and fast bowler Mushfik Hasan in their squad. The match is scheduled to begin on June 14 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka, with the Afghan Test side arriving on June 10.
Shahadat Hossain, a 21-year-old middle-order batsman from Chittagong Division, will make his debut in the longer format of the game. He has shown promise in his early career, amassing 1,265 runs from 20 first-class matches, including two centuries and ten half-centuries.

Both Hossain and Hasan showcased their skills and potential during the recent series against the West Indies A team while representing Bangladesh A.
Liton Das, an experienced batsman, has been appointed as the captain of the Bangladesh team for the Test in the absence of regular skipper Shakib Al Hasan, who is currently recovering from a finger injury.
Following the Test match, Afghanistan will temporarily return home to observe the Eid al-Adha festival before coming back to Bangladesh to play three one-day internationals and two Twenty20 internationals in Chittagong and Sylhet.
