The Uddhav faction of the Shiv Sena has announced it is against the Central ordinance on Delhi services. Thackeray on Wednesday said his Rajya Sabha MPs would vote against the ordinance when it comes in the form of a bill in the Rajya Sabha.

Uddhav’s assertion came after Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal came to meet Uddhav with a AAP delegation seeking his support against the ordinance. “We have come together to defeat those against democracy. If we miss the train this time, then there will be no democracy in the country. It will be autocracy in the country.”said Uddhav during a joint press conference with the Delhi Chief Minister.

Kejriwal said that it was important for the bill to be defeated in the Rajya Sabha. “This will be like a semifinal. If the bill is defeated then the Modi government won’t be able to come back to power in the 2024 polls.”said the Delhi Chief Minister.

Kejriwal accused the BJP government of not respecting institutions like the judiciary. “Ever since we came to power the centre have trying ways to prevent us from working for the people. We got a judgement after 8 years, however they (Centre) have decided that they don’t want to accept the ruling as they don’t believe in the democracy nor the Supreme court so they have brought this ordinance.”alleged Kejriwal.
