Former Michigan State wide receiver Keon Coleman committed to Florida State on Wednesday, according to an article from The Athletic Senior Writer Max Olson.

Coleman, a former 4-star recruit out of Opelousas, La., led Michigan State in receiving yards and touchdowns last season. He initially passed up 2021 recruiting class offers from Kansas, Auburn, Boston College, Florida State, Georgia, Houston, Miami, Mississippi State, Penn State, Ole Miss and Oklahoma, among others, according to 247Sports.

He spent two seasons with the Spartans, garnering 848 receiving yards and eight touchdowns in 22 games.

The 6-foot-4-inch wide receiver had three games with 100 receiving yards or more during the Spartans’ 2022-23 campaign. He earned 155 yards and one touchdown as the Michigan Wolverines took a 29-7 victory over Michigan State in late October.

He will join a transfer class that ranks at No. 5 in the country with just 10 transfers. Florida State’s transfer class features a variety of talented additions, including two 4-star tight ends in Kyle Morlock and Jaheim Bell. Both sides of the trenches can see boosts from 4-star defensive lineman Darrell Jackson and Braden Fiske, as well as a 4-star offensive lineman in Jeremiah Byers.

Florida State will need to find ways to continue its high-level production on offense after wide receiver Mycah Pittman transferred to Utah and Malik McClain went to Penn State.

Coleman and 5-star receiver commit Hykeem Williams may be able to do just that.

Coleman will be nothing short of an upgrade for an FSU offense that scored 36.1 points per game, good enough to tie with Wake Forest for first in the Atlantic Coast Conference. His experience will make him an ideal fit alongside quarterback Jordan Travis and wide receiver Johnny Wilson. Wilson, a 6-foot-7-inch receiver from Calabasas, Calif., led the Seminoles in receiving yards with 897 last season.
