NEW DELHI: HS Prannoy, the accomplished Indian shuttler, made an impressive leap of two positions to achieve a career-best world number seven ranking in the men’s singles category of the latest BWF rankings released on Tuesday.
Another noteworthy advancement was made by the Commonwealth Games bronze-medallist pair of Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand, who climbed two spots to secure the world number 15 ranking in the women’s doubles category.
Prannoy’s outstanding performances throughout 17 tournaments have accumulated a total of 66,147 points, establishing him as the highest-ranked Indian singles player. Following closely behind is PV Sindhu, the double Olympic medallist, who moved up a spot to secure the 11th position in women’s singles.

Regrettably, no other Indian players currently occupy a spot within the top 20 rankings across all categories.
