AMRITSAR: As many as five to six people sustained injuries following an exploision in the heritage street in the vicinity of Golden Temple in Amritsar late on Saturday night.

Devotees and locals were gripped with fear presuming a terrorist attack. Later, police maintained that the blast could be an accident and not any terror incident.

A forensic team reached the spot to conduct investigations and recovered some powder near a window whose glass was broken.
Amritsar police commissioner Naunihal Singh said, “It is too early to say anything.”
A local resident informed that about six girls who were in an autorickshaw were hit by the glass shards and sustained minor injuries.
