With campaigning for May 10 Karnataka assembly elections to end on Monday, BJP and Congress are looking to shift gears and move towards other poll-bound states, including Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Telangana.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address a public rally in Rajasthan’s Sirohi district on May 10. This will be his third rally in the state this year.

BJP sources told ET that before the upcoming assembly and 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the PM would address several public meetings in poll-bound states.

As part of ‘mission 160 weak’ Lok Sabha seats, Union minister Amit Shah is already touring states identified by the party. BJP chief JP Nadda will devote more time to upcoming assembly elections after May 10 and make night stays in one of the poll-bound states every month.

Congress plan includes Priyanka Gandhi Vadra undertaking a short padyatra and addressing a public meeting in Hyderabad, where she would release a ‘youth declaration’ promising employment opportunities. Gandhi is also scheduled to visit Jabalpur on June 12 to launch the Madhya Pradesh election campaign. Party leader Rahul Gandhi will also tour election-bound states and address public meetings.
