MUMBAI: Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut on Wednesday said Uddhav Thackeray will respond to critical comments about him made by NCP chief Sharad Pawar in his autobiography through an interview in party mouthpiece Saamna soon. In the revised edition of his autobiography ‘Lok Mazhe Sangati,’ Pawar has accused Thackeray of failing to resolve the discontent in his party and stepping down as CM without a fight. Pawar has also observed Thackeray lacked political finesse, a quality that is crucial for a chief minister.
Raut said he had spoken to Thackeray on Pawar’s resignation as well, and Sena (UBT) had adopted a policy of wait and watch.
Raut said, “In an autobiography, many things come up. There are individual views or stands. These are not the views of people. I have spoken to Thackeray about this, and soon, his detailed interview will be published in Saamna on these developments. All these doubts and questions will be answered clearly in it. It (the book) is his (Pawar’s) life story. If there is anything objectionable, those who are alive will reply.”
Raut also said Pawar had not taken retirement from politics. “He will continue to work in politics. He will continue to work till BJP is swept out of power in Delhi and Maharashtra.”
