“If media is reporting, they are reporting. As long as protests are peaceful, it is fine,” the court of special judge M K Nagpal said. The judge’s remark came after the counsel representing the CBI submitted that the media was giving a “political colour” to the matter.
“In view of the submissions made and further keeping in view the facts that investigation of the case is still pending to unearth the entire conspiracy and the role of other persons involved therein, the accused is remanded to JC till March 20, 2023 and he is directed to be produced before this court on the above said date at 2pm physically, as has been requested on behalf of the accused. Let his custody warrant be prepared, as per the applicable rules and guidelines,” stated the court while sending Sisodia to judicial custody.
The CBI in its application did not seek custody of Sisodia but stated that it can seek the same later. However, the counsel for the CBI submitted before the court that Aam Aadmi Party functionaries are politicising the matter and witnesses are “terrified”.

“Witnesses are terrified. The media is giving a political colour. Their supporters and the media are politicising the matter,” the CBI counsel submitted before the court.
Senior advocate Mohit Mathur, appearing for Sisodia, opposed the submissions of the agency, adding that he was appalled by such an argument.
“Are they scared of the media?” Mathur asked.
The court allowed Sisodia to carry the Bhagavad Gita, his spectacles and medicine to jail, while directing Tihar authorities to consider his request to be allowed to do Vipassana meditation.
