Twitter user Meer Asif Aziz replied to Rowling’s tweet by writing, “Don’t worry you are next.” Aziz’s Twitter bio described him as ‘student, social activist, political activist and research activist’.
In response, Rowling wrote to Twitter officials with screenshots of Aziz’s death threat. “@TwitterSupport any chance of some support?,” Rowling had tweeted along with screenshots of the threat.

Rowling later confirmed that the police are now involved in the matter, as they were already on other threats. “To all sending supportive messages: thank you 💕
Police are involved (were already involved on other threats),” she said in a tweet.
It’s noted that Rowling was earlier targeted by few trans-activists for opinion on gender.
Meanwhile, her new novel ‘The Ink Black Heart’ written under the pen-name Robert Galbraith will be published on August 30, 2022.
