Actor Gashmeer Mahajani, who was a popular name in the Marathi cinema and was seen in the Hindi TV show Imlie more recently, is set to participate in Jhalak Dikhla Jaa Season 10.
The actor, whose first love has always been dancing, will soon be seen in the upcoming season of the celebrity dance reality show.
Confirming the news, Gashmeer shared, “I am doing a show like Jhalak… because it is related to my area of work, which is acting. This reality show is going to help me in my work. Even though I have been a choreographer all my life, I have mostly worked as an actor for the past seven years. Every character that I played, was not a dancer. I couldn’t practice as I was a full-time actor. I will get back into my professional dancing shoes now with the help of Jhalak.”
The rehearsals have already begun. Talking about the first day, Gashmeer says, “On the first day of rehearsal with my choreographer, I could feel the muscles that were dormant for the past so many years. I want to get into the dancing zone I was in when I was 21. The best part about working on a reality show like this is that I can do so many other things along with it. ”
Apart from dancing, the actor is also in love with his workouts and believes that fitness is most important. He says, “I had to sport a six-pack physique for my web show. Since then, my fitness regime has been rigorous. I don’t enjoy keeping a six-pack but it is important for my role in the web show. It is tough waking up at 5 am and doing my workouts. I feel as actors it is important to look good and keep fit.”
