NEW DELHI: The windshield of a GoFirst Delhi-Guwahati cracked on Wednesday soon after take off. Due to heavy rains and bad weather in Delhi, the Airbus A320neo (VT-WGP) operating as G8-151 did not return to the origin and instead diverted safely to Jaipur. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is probing this case.
Comments from GoFirst have been sought and are awaited.
GoFirst has about 60 Airbus A320s in its fleet. Some of them are grounded, awaiting engine replacement. On Tuesday two GoFirst planes had experienced engine snags, forcing a Mumbai-Leh flight to divert to Delhi and a Srinagar-Delhi flight to return to Srinagar. The DGCA has grounded both these aircraft and they can now fly only after regulatory nod. Comments have been sought from GoFirst on how many of its aircraft are currently in service.
