Beach clubs are a bonafide Dubai pastime and, naturally, they’re super popular. So if you’re planning on topping up that tan this weekend, it’s best to book ahead.

Here are the coolest Dubai beach clubs to book a spot at.

New: Playa

Playa is a vibrant beach club with a boho edge. Self-described as a ‘celebration of the renewal of life’, it feature an indoor restaurant as well as several alfresco areas that spill down to the white sandy beach. Open daily from 10am until 2am, guests can recline on a lounger and soak up the sun by day, snag a seat on the terrace and enjoy a sundowner against the backdrop of the gorgeous skyline in the evening, or stay into the night for lively DJ sets. Eva Beach House brings a blissful slice of Tulum’s sandy shores to a sun-drenched seaside spot within Palm West Beach’s The Club. If you want to embark on a full culinary experience, book a table at the boho-chic restaurant, where you’ll find tables and chairs in creams and neutrals, a fresh fish and meat display and cactai climbing the walls. New: SAN Beach

The first beach club to open at new Palm West Beach destination, The Club, San Beach is a retreat-style space inspired by and named after Africa’s first indigenous tribe, the San. Split into pristine beach (made with premium white sand), a large infinity pool lined with chic sun loungers, an outdoor seating area with submerged pool bar and an indoor restaurant with huge open kitchen, SĀN offers something for everyone. Art and sculpture is used throughout to communicate the SĀN story, and elements of earth, wind, fire and water are carried through the design causing intrigue from every angle. Want to work on your tan? Head to Venus, the new beach club now open in Caesars Palace Dubai. It’s an ideal location to also chill in the pool, or tuck into some tasty Mediterranean dishes. By the pool, guests can enjoy a refined menu of Italian bites, while inside dishes include burrata with sweet and sour baby tomatoes, wood-fired pizzas, grilled meats and fresh fish including a pan-seared sea bream plated with fennel, orange, pine seeds and herbs.

Surf Club

Formerly Apron’s and Hammers, Surf Club is an elevated beach experience with roomy cabanas, experience, sun-dappled wooden trellises, and a chic, Hamptons-meets-California-cool feel. A DJ booth, has been built out into the sand, with the venue already becoming a lively beach party spot despite having opened in December. Out on the sand, there’s ample sun beds and cushy bean bags, and those signature blue and white striped towels. There is a big focus on seafood, with a raw and sushi counter serving up the freshest catches. Or, you can choose your favourite fish from the counter and have it cooked to your liking on a charcoal grill.

Zero Gravity is one of Dubai’s most longstanding and ever-popular beach clubs, famed for its poolside brunches and fabulous views. There’s a roster of events happening every single day, from ladies’ day deals to sunset happy hours and weekend brunches. Among their most popular, If you’re brunching, Saturday’s Tropical Brunch runs from 1pm to 5pm, priced at Dhs349 for ladies and Dhs399 guys, inclusive of unlimited food and house beverages. Drift Beach has long been popular with Dubai’s IT-crowd and for good reason. With amazing sea views, a luxe infinity pool and beautiful restaurant, it’s certainly a wow-worthy place to spend a weekend at. Cameras at the ready, you’re going to want a shot of this.

Nikki Beach Dubai is one of Dubai’s best beach clubs, and brings its globally renowned roster of events to the Pearl Jumeira every Tuesday to Sunday. With a huge swimming pool split with a white catwalk, and day beds lined with turquoise towels that spill onto the beach, it’s a lively spot for a pool day with pumping tunes and a fun-filled atmosphere.

Soulbeach is a new beach club set over a 3,000 square metre beachfront oasis at JA The Resort. At the centre, there’s a shimmering infinity pool, lined by a 26-metre long sun bed perfect for a group tanning session. There’s also a dedicated golden beachfront, and rooftop event space, as well as a duo of beach bars. Alongside the beach club, there’s an indoor and outdoor restaurant, serving a menu of dishes inspired by the South of France. Expect to break up a day of soaking up the sun with plentiful plates of seafood, fresh salads and signature dishes such as the Pissaladiere, a flatbread topped with caramelised onion, anchovies and black olives; or the heartier Wagyu striploin delicately flavoured with harissa chimichurri.

Spend a day in front of the iconic Atlantis, The Palm hotel at White Beach. There’s a boho-luxe feel, with wicker shades, rope parasols and plenty of tropical palm trees, while the central infinity pool has to be one of the best in the city for Palm Jumeirah views.
