Vivek Agnihotri’s The Kashmir Files is on a roll at the box office. The film crossed Rs 100 crore mark in just a week and now it is aiming to garner a total of Rs 175 crore by Monday. However, the film has had its share of controversies. Recently, it was reported that Agnihotri’s latest directorial venture was passed by the CBFC without any cuts and the director was also a part of the board. Responding to the allegations, the filmmaker has called it fake news.
THE KASHMIR FILES WAS NOT PASSED WITH ZERO CUTS!
On Saturday, March 19, it was claimed that The Kashmir Files film was passed by the censor board with zero cuts and it happened as Vivek Agnihotri was a member of CBFC. Today, March 20, Agnihotri took to Twitter to respond to the allegation and even shared a screenshot of a new piece that mentions that the film was given an ‘A’ certificate by CBFC with seven cuts.
Vivek Agnihotri wrote, “Please stop spreading fake news, like always. Take a little break. At least to respect the dead (sic).”
It is mentioned in the report that words like ‘Hindu’ and ‘Pandit’ were removed when they were associated with cuss words. The Board also changed the name of the university to ANU from JNU.
