Plaza Suite is a show about three couples who all stay in the Plaza Suite at the same time. A suite is a place where they can escape their everyday lives and have some fun. However, as they spend more time in the suite, they start to realize that their problems might be following them.
In one story, Karen and Sam Nash, suburban New Yorkers, are spending the night at the plaza while the house they live in is being repainted. However, it’s even more important for Karen because they’re celebrating their wedding anniversary for their “twenty-something” years together at the same hotel from their honeymoon. Sam is preoccupied the entire time with business dealings while Karen is trying to recreate the romance she remembers from their wedding night.

In the second story, Jesse Kiplinger, who is a Hollywood movie producer, has two hours of free time during his quick stay in New York and wants to fill it with a brief fling. He calls many women to help fill that time, and his old hometown flame, Muriel, who is married, is the first to agree to meet him. Muriel has not seen Jesse in 15 years and knows what he wants but still goes to meet him.
In the third story, there is a huge party happening in one of the hotel rooms for a wedding and reception of Mimsy Hubley and Borden Eisler. While everyone is partying, Mimsey has locked herself into her hotel suite, refusing to speak to her mother or father. While her parents work to get her out of the bathroom, they’re also focusing on their own relationship problems and how they might have contributed to the cold feet Mimsey is experiencing.

This broadway show, featuring Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick, is a hilarious look at modern relationships and their struggles.
