Egypt reported 946 new coronavirus cases on Sunday, bringing the total infection tally officially to 344,907 since the outbreak began in February 2020, said the Health Ministry in its daily coronavirus update statement.

Egypt’s Health Ministry reported in its daily coronavirus statement that 68 new deaths related to Covid-19 complications were recorded officially in the past 24 hours nationwide, bringing the total number of deaths from the virus to 19,567.

The statement added that 432 patients have been discharged after recovering from the virus, bringing the total number of recoveries to 288,114.

In a media statement on Sunday, Egypt’s presidential adviser for health affairs Mohamed Awad Tag El-Din said that only 32 million doses have been administered thus far out of 75 million doses the country received so far.
