Having grown up in the United States, Thanksgiving is a holiday that is always on my radar. But, since we’ve moved to Morocco throwing a Moroccan Thanksgiving has become more of the norm. Not that there is anything wrong with the usual American recipes but I’ve had a lot of fun creating and adapting recipes to give them a more North African flavor profile.
Obviously, there is no national holiday for Thanksgiving in Morocco but that doesn’t mean I don’t make it a family event. Last year I even helped create and sell a Thanksgiving menu with a local women’s non-profit.
