We have heard of Konami potentially remaking or rebooting its games, to become relevant once again in the video games space. We’ve seen reports of Silent Hill and Metal Gear Solid being remade countless times. The rumour mill is spinning once again, but with one important extra detail.

VGC reports once again that its publishing sources have said that Konami will be remaking its biggest franchises. These include the likes of Silent Hill, Castlevania and Metal Gear Solid. That last one is of particular importance, because rather than remaking the first game, Konami may intend to remake Snake Eater instead.

Castlevania Symphony of the Night

That being said, the report states that Konami also intends to remaster the original game for modern consoles before the remake comes around. The sequence makes some sense, assuming the remasters of the first two games come out before the remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater.

Going back to Castlevania, the report says that there will be a new game, which is supposed to serve as a “reimagining” of the series. It is currently being developed internally at Konami Japan, with support from local external studios. All that said, it will likely be awhile before an announcement gets made, if at all.
