Making its official debut in Malaysia is Panasonic-owned premium audio brand Technics, which has recently launched two of its latest true wireless earbuds locally. These consist of the EAH-AZ60 and EAH-AZ40 – both of which are designed for productivity and everyday life, while also providing a high-end audio experience.
The Technics EAH-AZ60 and EAH-AZ40 feature a near identical stemless earbuds design, which features an acoustic housing and harmoniser to enhance their respective audio delivery. Included together with both models are several eartip sizes to further ensure a snug and comfortable fit for the user. In terms of weather protection, the duo features IPX4 water and dust resistance.
Expectedly, there are notable differences between the two. The AZ60 packs 8mm drivers and a total of eight built-in microphones, while the EAH-AZ40 features smaller 6mm drivers and six microphones. Concurrently, the former comes with active noise cancelling (ANC) capabilities, which the latter unfortunately lacks. Their battery capacities also differ from one another, but we’ll get to that in a bit.
While ANC is exclusive to the AZ60, both models feature ambient sound modes to filter or to include environmental noise. The Natural Ambient mode allows users to hear external noises while making calls or listening to music, while the Attention Mode only picks up the human voice frequency range so that the listener can hear conversations or announcements. Also onboard is the brand’s JustMyVoice technology that utilises the duo’s built-in microphones to detect and capture a person’s voice, isolating it from external noises for clearer call quality.
As mentioned earlier, both models offer different battery life expectancies. Technics claim that the AZ60 is capable of lasting up to four and a half hours on a full charge with ANC enabled, and seven and a half hours with it deactivated. Due to the lack of ANC and other features, the AZ40 is said to also last up to seven and a half hours. Combined with the additional charges provided by their respective cases, the duo can go up to 25 hours of use.
The Technics EAH-AZ60 and EAH-AZ40 will retail at RM1,049 and RM649 respectively, and are expected to arrive in Malaysia by mid-October 2021 onwards. Pre-orders for both models will kick-off tomorrow from 30 September until 15 October, exclusively via Panasonic Malaysia’s official stores on Lazada and Shopee.
