Kansas City Royals catcher Salvador Perez isn’t just having a career year, he’s in the midst of one of the greatest offensive seasons for a backstop in MLB history. On Monday, Perez broke Johnny Bench’s record for home runs by a catcher in a season when he hit No. 46 off of Cleveland starter Tristan McKenzie. He’s also put up career-best numbers in hits, RBI and walks this season as well. Despite the eye-popping stats, the 31-year-old Perez has zero chance to take home the AL MVP Award, but it’s been a remarkable 2021 regardless.

Which brings us to today’s quiz of the day. Throughout MLB history, a catcher has hit 30 or more home runs in a single season 52 times, with Perez’s 46 (and counting) now sitting atop that list. So with that in mind. how many of the 52 can you name in five minutes?

Good luck!
