Egypt women basketball national team emerged victorious in their opening match of the 2021 Women’s AfroBasket against Guinea.
The 2021 Women’s AfroBasket is taking place in Yaoundé, Cameroon, from the 17th to the 26th of September.
The Pharaohs start their journey in group C alongside Guinea, and Senegal, as each group consists of only three teams.
The first clash for the Egyptians took place today against Guinea, and the result wasn’t a surprise as the Egyptians gained their first two points from their first win.
The game started with both teams on nearly equal footing, as the first quarter ended 20-18 in favor of Egypt.

However, the gap started to widen in the second quarter when the Egyptians finished the first half with the result of 45-37.
The points difference kept increasing across the second half quarters for the game to end in a massive 102-58 victory.
The Egyptians are now sharing the group lead with Senegal who won their first game against Guinea as well. However, Senegal has the points difference in their favor.
In their next confrontation, Egypt will be coming face to face with last edition runner-ups Senegal tomorrow to decide first place in Group C.
