TM today has announced that its IPTV service, unifi TV will begin to offer 12 new channels this coming October. Mirroring the move by Astro, the announcement came just as the service is about to lose some of its contents after The Walt Disney Company decided to shut down the majority of its TV channels in Southeast Asia.

For unifi TV, the affected channels are FOX, FOX Life, FX, SCM Legend, SCM, Star Chinese Channel, FOX Action Movies, FOX Family Movies, FOX Movies, Nat Geo People, National Geographic Channel, Nat Geo Wild, Baby TV, Sky News, FOX Sports, FOX Sports 2 and FOX Sports 3.

These are some of the Disney-owned channels on unifi TV.

As for the new channels, unifi TV users will be able to access them starting from 1 October onwards and here is the full list:

CH 288: Celestial Movies

CH 289: CCM

CH 407: HITS Movies

CH 453: AXN

CH 454: HITS

CH 462: K-Plus

CH463: Arirang HD

CH471: GEM

CH472: Animax

CH505: Techstorm

Two more channels SPOTV (CH706) and SPOTV2 (CH707) will also be joining the unifi TV on 14 October. Operated by the Eclat Media Group of South Korea, both of them will be generally taking over the spot left by FOX Sports and have already obtained broadcast rights for several major live sporting events including MotoGP.

Over in South Korea, SPOTV has the rights for several major European football leagues including the English Premier League, Serie A, and La Liga as well as UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, AFC Champions League, and J1 League. However, it is not known for now whether Eclat will bring these football leagues and other high-profile sports content alongside MotoGP to unifi TV.

Meanwhile, all subscribers of Ultimate Pack, Aneka Plus Pack, Ruby Plus Pack, and Varnam Pack will receive complimentary access to all 12 new channels once they go live this October. The free access will last until 31 December 2021, according to the company.
