Vienna/Jerez, 30.04.2010: Prior to the green lights for the “Gran Premio bwin de España”, bwin, the world’s leading publicly-listed online gaming provider and official sponsor of MotoGP since 2004, invited riders Colin Edwards (Monster Yamaha Tech 3), Alvaro Bautista (Rizla Suzuki), Randy de Puniet (LCR Honda), Mika Kallio (Pramac Racing Team) and Marco Melandri (San Carlo Honda Gresini) to join the team on the bwin Poker Yacht. After arriving at the yacht in Puerto Sherry on jet skis, the MotoGP riders took part in a thrilling game of poker.

After having given the MotoGP riders in Jerez the chance to enjoy the excitement of a game of poker at lofty heights on the bwin Sky Platform in 2009, this time, they had the chance to swap their bikes for jet skis and tried their hands at some poker fun in a relaxing environment away from the race track.

A relaxing and fun experience
“This was for sure a good way to fill up with some extra energy, disconnect and get away from the pressure at the circuit for a couple of hours”, commented Spanish rider, Alvaro Bautista. Colin Edwards proved to be an expert at Texas Hold´em and went on to win the game. “I have no excuses. This is where I come from”, he joked. “Here you also have to concentrate hard but in a completely different way. Here you can sit back and think about your next move. On the track it all happens faster, right in front of you”.

Marco Melandri also dared to make a forecast for the weekend. “In Moto2, the clear favourite to win is Toni Elías, in 125cc, it will be a battle between the Spanish riders and in MotoGP, Pedrosa should bring home a good result but in the end, it will probably be Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo on the podium.

bwin Poker Night
On Friday, bwin will host the official Poker Night where the media and the winners of an online promotion will be invited to play a game of poker on the luxury yacht. The winners will also have the opportunity to watch the “Gran Premio bwin de España” live with access to the exclusive VIP area.
