Egypt & Africa’s TOP football club, Al Ahly SC, have finally received all the necessary permits to fulfill their ambitions to build their own stadium.

Up until recently, Al Ahly has been sharing Cairo’s International Stadium with Zamalek FC, their biggest rival in the league. Afterward, in 2019, they moved to Al Salam Stadium (then rebranded as Al Ahly WE Al Salam Stadium) which they shared with El Entag El Harby club.

Despite several broken promises from previous administrations concerning building the new stadium, the Red Devils are now one step closer to their very own venue thanks to club president Mahmoud El-Khatib’s efforts.

The football venue is set to begin construction in the El Sheikh Zayed district on May 1st, 2021.

The new stadium will have 60,000 seats, which would make it the third-largest stadium in Egypt after Borg El-Arab 86,000 seats and the Cairo International Stadium 74,100.
