It seems that ASUS is planning on launching a new gaming laptop under its ROG Zephyrus line this month, dubbed the M16. As its name suggests, it appears that the laptop is going to be a laptop with a 16-inch form factor.

Thanks to Videocardz, we at least know what else we can expect from the M16; while the laptop seems to sport a 16-inch display, it also appears to be a display with a 16:10 aspect ratio, much like the ROG Flow X13. Unlike the Flow X13, though, the M16 is both obviously and pretty clearly a full-fledged gaming laptop and will not be required to form a physical attachment to an external GPU (eGPU). In order to run games at high frame rates.

Still speaking about displays, the M16’s display will be available in two resolutions: WQXGA (2560 x 1600) and WUXGA (1920 x 1200). Even more enticing is the displays’ refresh rate, which are rated at 165Hz for the WQXGA and 144Hz for the WUXGA variant.

As for the internals, the M16 will reportedly be powered by Intel 11th Gen Core i7-11800H or Core i9-11900H mobile CPUs and up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX3070 discrete GPU. One interesting to note is that one of the discrete GPUs listed as an option is an RTX 3050 Ti, a GPU whose details have yet to be announced by its parent company.

In any case, Such breakoffs from the norm is par for the course with ASUS; its launch of the Zephyrus line back in 2016 was a game-changer and since then, the laptop series has undergone several changes and iterations. Last year, it surprised the world again with the launch of the Zephyrus G14, the brand’s first thin and light gaming laptop to be powered by AMD’s Ryzen 4000 Mobile series CPU.

As to how much the Zephyrus M16 will cost, we’ll just have to wait for word from ASUS, but according to sources, we could hear something about the laptop as early as next week.
